                René Auberjonois Dies: ‘Benson’ And ‘Star Trek’ Actor Was 79
                René Auberjonois, an actor who rose to prominence with roles on such hit television shows as Benson and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine died Sunday at his home in Los Angeles of metastatic lung cancer, the Associated Press reported. He was 79.

                Auberjonois was a character actor and performed in theater of the 1960s. He made the transition to cinema in the 1970s, and appeared on a string of popular television series in the 1980s and ’90s.

                The actor was born in New York in 1940. He graduated from Pittsburgh’s Carnegie Institute of Technology, now Carnegie Mellon. Auberjonois later decided to pursue a career as a perform, joining theater companies and landing three roles on Broadway in 1968, including playing the Fool in a long-running version of King Lear.

                Caroll Spinney, Puppeteer Behind Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch, Dies at 85
                Caroll Spinney, the puppeteer who played Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch for 49 years at “Sesame Street,” died Sunday in Connecticut after living with dystonia. He was 85.

                Sesame Workshop announced his death, calling him an “artistic genius” whose “legacy here at Sesame Workshop and in the cultural firmament will be unending.” Spinney’s death came on the same day “Sesame Street” is to receive the prestigious Kennedy Center Honor in Washington, D.C.

                “His enormous talent and outsized heart were perfectly suited to playing the larger-than-life yellow bird who brought joy to generations of children and countless fans of all ages around the world,” the announcement continued, “and his lovably cantankerous grouch gave us all permission to be cranky once in a while,” Sesame Workshop said.

                Disney Crossing Record $10 Billion At Worldwide Box Office; First Studio In History To The Mark
                Frozen 2 and its cumulative $919.7M in global snow dust, have helped bring Disney to the $10B threshold worldwide for 2019. Officially, the studio will cross the mark within the next day. Current studio cumes stand at $3.28B domestic and $6.717B from the international box office. That’s $9.997B global through today. This is a new record for worldwide box office for any studio in a calendar year, and surpasses Disney’s previous placeholder of $7.6B that was posted in 2016.

                The above numbers do not take into account Fox titles. When they are added, the combined global box office for Dis is $11.94B ($3.8B domestic/$8.14B overseas) so far. Wow.

                And all of this is before Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker starts strutting around the world on December 18 overseas, and December 20 domestically.

                Parasite has been named best picture of the year by New York Film Critics Online (Nyfco). The vote took place Saturday.?

                In addition, Bong Joon Ho was tapped as best director for his work on the film, which also garnered best screenplay honors.

A sizzle reel of the best streaming platform’s greatest hits played, ending with The Witcher, which received enormous praise from the crowd, but once the show’s star Henry Cavill stepped on the stage to surprise the audience, they were unhinged with joy.

                Show creator Lauren Schmidt Hissrich joined Cavill for the surprise as they talked about the adaptation of the namesake fantasy novels that has gained a rabid following. Cavill, who plays the grim Geralt of Rivia admits that he was a fan of the novels. As for Hissrich, she loved the fantasy but wanted the fighting and action to move the story forward.

                Sony's Jumanji: The Next Level made a shaky start in China over the weekend, opening to $24.7 million, according to data from Artisan Gateway.

                That's a 38 percent slide from Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle's $39.7 three-day debut in January 2018. On China's 630 Imax screens, the sequel took in $2.3 million.
